台灣藝術家劉信義(1981~)畢業於台藝大書畫藝術系博士班，目前任職玄奘大學專任助理教授，他也是六條墨、漂移社等創作團體的重要成員。
劉信義的當代水墨創作，從感受自心出發，繼而觀看他者、體察時代人心，他如哲人般探究著人性的本質，也如詩人般吟詠著愛、孤寂與希望。他的作品呈現出極為含蓄、沉靜與溫柔的氣質。他在創作中渲染了濃厚的精神心理氛圍，以喚起觀看者內心底層的幽微感受。
劉信義的創作於顏色的使用上不只限於純墨色的黑灰白或是冷色系，而是混搭著寒暖色系於畫面中，期望藉由色彩的搭配去呈現更多豐富的層次以及意念，如作品中會帶有些許霓虹的色彩，就象徵著雨過天晴，走過陰暗後的光景。在繪畫方式上延續著工筆、寫意兼備的作畫方式，但運用更多的流動性筆觸去增添繪畫上的趣味。在氛圍的營造上塑造一種較為輕盈的感受，作品呈現出微微的憂鬱卻不會凝重的感覺。
劉信義曾舉辦多次個展及聯展，作品廣受喜愛與收藏。
Liu Hsin-Yi, a Taiwanese artist, graduated from the Department of Calligraphy and Painting of National Taiwan University of Arts. Currently teaching at Hsuan Chuang University, full-time assistant professor in the Department of Art and Creative Design. Liu Hsin-Yi's contemporary ink works are inspired from his deepest thoughts, and observing humans’ hearts. His works show a very subtle, quiet and gentle temperament. His paintings have rendered a strong mental and psychological atmosphere to arouse the subtle feelings of the audience at the bottom of one’s heart.
Hsin-Yi 's collection is different from the previous works, instead of gray, black, and white, he uses more colors to show different layers, such as rainbow colors, a symbol of the brightness through the dark, like the sun after rain. On the continuation of the fine brushwork, freehand style, using more flowing brush strokes. His works show a slight melancholy but not heavy feeling.
